While staying at Kulungi Riverside Lodge, guests can experience the exhilaration of open-air game drives and bushwalks in the wild bushveld, where you can view wildlife in their natural habitats.

Guests can also go on a variety of day tours to fascinating places like the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, Amarula Lapa, HESC Cheetah Centre, Select Safaris River Cruises down the Olifants River with wild animals roaming the banks and waters, or experience a personal interaction with Africa's largest mammal and possibly ride an elephant!

KRUGER PARK

Phalaborwa Gate (30 minutes) and Orpen Gate (90 minutes) are within easy driving distance from the lodge with the option to enter through one and depart through the other. A daily conservation fee is payable at the gate.

    ACTIVITIES WITHIN GRIETJIE GAME RESERVE

    Morning and Afternoon Game Drives and Bush Walks.
    No children under 12 years for bush walks.
    Accompanied by an experienced Field Guide with rifle, one can experience the unique opportunity of encountering wildlife on foot & hone your bush skills such as tracking and plant identification, and view many species of animals and birds.

    As we are a small intimate lodge, we share the services of trained field guides with other small lodges, so to avoid disappointment, booking of these activities is essential

    Olifants River Cruise with Select Safaris - R230.00 pp - Pre-booking essential
    The trip is 3 hours long departing at approximately 14h00pm with 1.5 hours being the "up- the river trip" when we anchor off the bank of the river and serve teas, coffees and muffins. Then we travel 1.5 hours back down the river to the mooring. This is a fantastic way to get up close encounters with wildlife along the rivers edge and in the River! Departure time may vary according to the seasons.

    HESC Cheetah Breeding Centre - R135.00 pp
    The first tour of the day departs at 9:00 and the last tour at 15:00. Each tour starts on the hour every hour & lasts for about 1hour and 30mins. Guests will be able to view mainly cheetah, but also King Cheetah, wild dog, lion, Bengal tiger and other various endangered species. There is also a teagarden and curio shop on site.

    Moholoholo Rehabilitaion Centre - R 100.00 per adult
    9h30am tour & 15h00 tour daily! Each tour lasts 2 hours

    Wildlife is brought to the centre from all corners of South Africa, and once healthy enough are re-introduced into their natural environments. Those creatures that are not able to make it back into the wild due to the nature & extent of their injuries, are cared for at the centre and are used to educate us!
